The roller of the cylindrical roller bearing is in line contact with the raceway, so the bearing can bear heavier
radial load. Applications are found in situations characterizes by heavy load and shock load, and also by
high-speed rotation. These bearings are separable bearings, and convenient to be mounted and dismounted.
They are designed as types of single, double and multiple rows among which the single row cylindrical roller
bearings are most applicable. Normally these bearings can accommodate radial load only, none but single
row bearings with ribs both on inner and outer rings can carry lighter constant axial load.

N style bearings have two machined flanges on the inner ring and no flanges on the outer ring, with rollers and
cage on the inner ring. Like the NU style, the N has no thrust load carrying capability.
NU style bearings have two machined flanges on the outer ring and no flanges on the inner ring. The rollers and
cages are assembled in the outer ring. Because there are no flanges in the inner ring, this bearing cannot carry
a thrust load.
NJ style bearings have two machined flanges on the outer ring and a machined flange on one side of the inner ring.
The roller and cage assembly is in the outer ring. The integral flange on the inner ring allows this bearing to carry
an axial load.

Q5 - What should I care before installation?
A - Normally, the preservative with which new bearings are coated before leaving the factory does
not need to be removed; it is only necessary to wipe off the outside cylindrical surface and bore,
if the grease is not compatible with the preservative, it is necessary to wash and carefully dry the
bearing.
-Bearings should be installed in a dry, dust-free room away from metal working or other machines
producing swarf and dust.
Q6 - How to stock and maintenance my bearings right?
A - Do not store bearings directly on concrete floors, where water can condense and collect on the
bearing;
-Store the bearings on a pallet or shelf, in an area where the bearings will not be subjected to high
humidity or sudden and severe temperature changes that may result in condensation forming;
-Always put oiled paper or, if not available, plastic sheets between rollers and cup races of tapered
roller bearings.
